The tradition and history of malas dates back centuries to a variety of faiths. In fact, the tradition of beaded jewellery has been traced by archeologists to the beginning of human existence.

Malas traditionally consist of 108 beads with a knot in between each bead, a guru bead, and a tassel. They were and continue to be used in meditation, (including mantra meditation to keep count) prayer, grounding, healing, fashion, intention setting, and more.
